²¹ The Benjaminites came out of Gibeah and that day they cut twenty-two thousand Israelites down to the ground. ²² But the Israelites encouraged one another and once again took the same positions for battle that they had taken the first day. ²³ The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until that evening, asking counsel of the Lord and saying, “Should we go up again to fight against the Benjaminites, our brothers?” The Lord answered, “Go up to fight them.”
